What is a world clock?
A world clock shows the current local time in several places at once. It helps you call family abroad, plan meetings across countries, follow international events and avoid messaging a colleague in the middle of their night.
This clock starts with Pakistan, the UAE, the UK, the USA, India, Saudi Arabia and Australia. You can add more cities from a list and remove any card, and your choice is remembered on this device.
Planning a call across time zones
Time zones are measured as an offset from UTC. Pakistan is UTC+5 all year, so it does not change its clocks. A call at 9 PM in Karachi is 8 PM in Dubai, and in winter it is 4 PM in London and 11 AM in New York. In summer the UK and the USA move their clocks forward, so those gaps shrink by one hour.
Always read the date on each card as well as the time. A city many hours ahead can already be on the next day while you are still in the evening.
Who uses a world clock
Remote workers use it to find overlapping hours with teammates, students use it to join lectures held in another country, and families use it to choose a good time to call relatives abroad. Traders and sports fans use it to follow market opens and live matches. Travellers check it before booking flights to understand how big the time difference will feel on arrival. Keeping a handful of cities on screen is quicker and less error prone than adding and subtracting hours in your head every time.
How to use it
- Read the live time and date on each city card. They update every second.

Practical tips
- Keep your three most important contact cities on screen.
- Before booking a meeting, check that the time is a sensible working hour for everyone.
- Re-check differences when daylight saving changes, because the gap can shift by an hour.
- Write the city name beside any time you share to avoid confusion.
